Thursday, November 14, 2019 (Los Angeles, CA) - Recent LA transplants, indie-folk outfit Dyado release two singles this month off their forthcoming EP (out early 2020). Produced by Malachi Delorenzo (Langhorne Slim) and tracked directly to tape, leading tracks “Call Me, Help!,” and “End of Your Song” feature the duo’s signature hazy California spirit and bring to mind the best of contemporary favorites Big Thief and Bright Eyes, while also paying a dedicated nod to legacy acts The Beach Boys and Joni Mitchell.
At the forefront of the project are cousins Matt Lohan and Louisa Stancioff who reconnected later in life, honing their natural ability to switch seamlessly between lead and harmony vocals. Taking turns in the spotlight (Lohan leading “Call Me, Help!” and Stancioff voicing “End of Your Song”), further showcases the duo’s collaborative nature, and leaves room for both songwriters to embed their respective identities in each arrangement.
With gutting themes of longing and isolation, the new songs reflect on the all-too-familiar feeling of transition, while still posing an air of hope through bright chord progressions and sweet falsetto melodies. With full length record Dreamcountry already under their belts, the band is slated to debut the new EP in early 2020. Driven by wanderlust and a love of performing, Dyado has taken their full band of four on the road and can be found on tour this month with Boston-based trio Lula Wiles. A complete list of dates is below. “Call Me, Help!” is available now on all streaming platforms, and “End of Your Song” hits the web tomorrow (Friday, November 15).
