ASHEVILLE OPRY WILL CONCLUDE ITS 2019-2020 SEASON ON SUNDAY, FEBRUARY 9

Friday, January 3, 2020 - The final installment of local country music series The Asheville Opry will take place at Isis Music Hall on Sunday, February 9. Developed by Red Rover Booking founder Melissa Myers and inspired by local WNCW radio program “Country Gold,” The Asheville Opry will feature Western North Carolina artists performing classic country tunes from World War II to Watergate. The annual program, which sold out for the first time this June, will wrap up its 2019-2020 season with performances by local favorites Devils in Dust, Rebecca and the Reckoning, and Tim McWilliams (of Redleg Husky).

Lineup participants will pay tribute to the likes of Patsy Cline, Loretta Lynn, Johnny Cash, Dolly Parton, Buck Owens, Hank Williams, and more, with toe-tapping standards, classic anthems, and beloved waltzes. Staying true to the Grand Ole Opry theme, the show will once again be hosted by staple emcee and Asheville-based musician Lo Wolf, who leaves no set-change to waste with her punchy jokes and boisterous stories. 

Following this season’s curtain call, The Asheville Opry will continue to deliver its signature blend of nostalgia, camaraderie, and laughs, with new spring dates to be announced in the coming weeks.

$18 advanced tickets are on sale at www.isisasheville.com. Priority seating will be given to dinner guests, and reservations can be made online or by phone.

COUNTRY MUSIC SERIES RETURNS TO ISIS MUSIC HALL SUNDAY, OCTOBER 13

FEATURING: GOLD ROSE, CHRISTY LYNN BAND, PLANEFOLK

Friday, July 19, 2019 (Asheville, NC) -  The Asheville Opry is proud to announce the lineup for its fall show, taking place at the historic Isis Music Hall on Sunday, October 13. The second installment of the country music tribute series’ 2019 season will include performances by Americana quartet Gold Rose, “sweetheart of the radio” Christy Lynn (and her band), and Appalachian troubadour Planefolk.

The music series, developed by Red Rover Booking founder Melissa Myers and inspired by local WNCW radio program “Country Gold” features Western North Carolina artists performing classic country tunes from World War II to Watergate. The program, which started as a three part showcase has now grown into a yearly affair, relocating from its original homebase at the Asheville Masonic Temple to the iconic Isis Theatre in West Asheville.

Friday, May 3, 2019 (Asheville, NC) - Following a knock-out first run, the Asheville Opry has announced a second season, this time taking place at the historic Isis Music Hall in West Asheville. The music series, developed by Red Rover Booking founder Melissa Myers and inspired by local WNCW radio program “Country Gold” features Western North Carolina artists performing classic country tunes from World War II to Watergate. The program, which started as a three part showcase has now grown into a yearly affair, relocating from its original homebase at the Asheville Masonic Temple to the iconic Isis Theatre.

The first show of the season will take place on Sunday, June 23, and will feature recent Merlefest Chris Austin Song Competition finalist and winner Hannah Kaminer and Alexa Rose, respectively, followed by local old-school favorites The Old Chevrolette Set.

The performers will pay tribute to the likes of Patsy Cline, Loretta Lynn, Johnny Cash, Dolly Parton, George Strait, Hank Williams, and more, with toe-tapping standards, classic anthems, and beloved waltzes.
